Outlaws drop season finale vs Husaria – SportGame wraps up season

Wojciech Stolarczyk blocked both punts and registered multiple sacks.

The Outlaws finished the season once again on the wrong side of the scoreboard, falling to the visiting Husaria from Szczecin 13-0 at the Olympic Stadium on May 20.

Both clubs were fighting to remain in the Top League ranks. Husaria got to a 7-0 leader after their first drive of the game. The Outlaws (0-6) entered the opponent’s red zone four times but were unable to come away with any points.

The Outlaws blocked two punts to assist the offense to no avail.

Husaria (1-5) put together a long, time-consuming drive at the end of the game to limit the Outlaws’ chances of tying the score. After a botched snap by the Outlaws returned the ball to Szczecin only three yards out from scoring, Husaria’s running back punched the ball in to cap off the game, and the Outlaws’ season.

Post-game report: Lowlanders 47 – 0 Outlaws

The Outlaws suffered a heavy defeat at the hands of the visiting Lowlanders Białystok on Saturday, May 13. The visiting side scored steadily on their way to a 47-0 victory over the winless Outlaws.

Ernest Hall Jr. intercepted a pass at the goal line to end the Lowlanders’ first drive of the game. Wrocław’s offence, however, could not move the ball far away from their own red zone and the subsequent punt gave the visitor’s a short field to begin their second drive. They would score quickly a few plays later.

Hall again sparked life into the Outlaws with a long kick return that reached the home side to midfield. On this drive, the Outlaws managed to put together a couple good plays and earn some first downs, but were again forced to punt. All day long, the Outlaws were battered by an aggressive Białystok defence, and they were unable to run or pass for much gain.

Defensively, the Outlaws had difficulty containing the dual-threat run and pass play of the Lowlanders’ American quarterback. The Lowlanders used short passes and tough running plays up the middle to wear down Wrocław’s defence. Białstok’s steady attack on offence created a growing gap in points as the Outlaws could find no answers of their own on offence. Dawid Kubicki registered two sacks in the game.

At 0-5, the Outlaws head into the final game of the season needing just one win to enter the playoffs and keep their Top League presence alive. They will battle against Szczecin Husaria, who are also 0-5. It will be a winner-take-all matchup on Saturday, May 20 in Wroclaw.

Outlaws fall short in fight with Falcons 15-12

Tychy, Poland –

Amerykański rozgrywający Tychów grał z kontuzją kolana i w drugiej kwarcie został wyeliminowany z dalszego udziału w meczu, co zmusiło Falcons do gry biegowej.

The Outlaws put up a strong fight against the Tychy Falcons on Saturday, defying national expectations of another major loss for the visiting side but falling short 15-12.

After the Falcons (3-1), on the opening possession, steadily worked their way down the field for the first score of the game (7-0), a big kick return by Maciej Kuźniarski placed the Outlaws at midfield. A few players later, Mariusz Górecki pitched the ball left to Aleksander Dąda who then ran untouched to earn the Outlaws’ first score of the season. The ensuing extra point was block, keeping the game at 7-6 in favour of Tychy.

The game was since gridlocked in a defensive and special teams battle. Tychy’s import quarterback, playing on an injured knee, was knocked out of the game in the second quarter, forcing the Falcons to solely depend on the run. Kuźniarski picked off Shane Truelove’s final first half pass in the end zone. The Outlaws made another goal line stand to end the first half.

While able to build some offensive drives, the Outlaws offence was kept out of the end zone for the rest of the afternoon. Trailing 15-6, a botched snap during a Falcons punt rolled into the hands of Dawid Kubicki for a scoop and score. The two-point conversion failed, and the Outlaws trailed 15-12 with three minutes remaining in the game. Kubicki also had a sack in the game.

The defence was unable to get the ball back for the offence. Truelove returned to the game to successfully orchestrate the final drive.

The Outlaws (0-4) will now prepare for their final two matches, both at home. The league is on break this week.
